Press Release October 18, 2021 Jack Yancey, Izard County Sheriff

10/18/2021

A Horseshoe Bend man has been taken into custody after a call was placed to the Izard County Sheriff's Office at approximately 7:34 a.m.

The caller identified himself as a brother of the female who claimed her husband had locked her out of the house.

Izard County deputies responded to an address on Nightingale in Horseshoe Bend.

The female stated she had been assaulted by her husband, locked out of the house and he was holding their three month old baby inside.

She told authorities he had threatened to do harm to the child if the police showed up.

After a short standoff and some negotiation, a 24-year-old male came out of the house and gave up.

The child was unharmed.

The subject is in custody in the Izard County Jail awaiting formal charges.
