National Drug Take Back Day

The Izard County Sheriff's Office will be participating in National Drug Take Back Day October 23.
Those wishing to drop of unwanted, unused or out of date narcotics may bring them by the Izard County Sheriff's Office between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
"With Arkansas ranking number 2 in opioid prescriptions, we have seen a huge increase in the use of legal and illegal drugs in our communities," Chief Deputy Charley Melton said.
"While the safety and well-being of our citizens is foremost, we are working to help educate people on the dangers of drug abuse, Our department is also working to help those with chemical dependency problems."
"Helping dispose of prescription drugs is just one of our safety measures we do to keep drugs no longer needed off the streets."
"We will have officers, members of our Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program, Tobacco Prevention Program and others agencies available to answer any questions you might have."
