On Sunday morning the 7th of March, Izard County Deputies responded to a domestic altercation at 73 Pounders Lane near Melbourne, AR. Upon arrival Deputies met a female identified as Sandi Clapper. Mrs. Clapper stated that she had ran from the house she shared with her husband after he tried to choke her with a rope and threatened to kill her and himself. She further stated that he was still in the house and was armed. After repeated efforts of establishing communications with suspect were unsuccessful, entry was made and the body of Tim Clapper, age 52 was found in a bathroom. It appeared he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Clappers body was taken to the State Medical Examiners for autopsy. Foul play is not suspected but the incident remains under investigation.
