METH LAB FOUND IN TRUNK OF CAR

The Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Forces were assisting agencies to Horseshoe Bend Police in the arrest of Jacob David Acord, age 30 of Glencoe. Officers discovered an operating methamphetamine laboratory in the trunk of his car lat Wednesday night. Acord has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (meth), use or possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia, intent of manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance(marijuana). In total, Acord has been charged with one class “y” felony, a class “b” felony, two class “c” felonies, one class “a” misdemeanor, and numerous traffic related violation. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Acord remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $52,000 bond.

In other sheriff’s department activities, a felony arrest warrant has been issued for Michael Kelly, age 29 of Franklin in connection with the theft of a all terrain vehicle. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Kelly is accuse4d of steeling the vehicle from a residence on Main Street in Franklin. Deputies recovered the ATV off Shadow Gate Road near Violet Hill. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Kelly is asked to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.

A Melbourne man was arrested May 5 on charges of battery third degree, assault third degree, and terrorist threatening second degree. Jason Clyde Cain, age 29 of Dixon Street was released from the Izard County Detention Center the following day after posting bond in the amount of $3,315.

Steven Chute, age 20 of Melbourne was arrested May5 on charges of battery third degree and harassment. Chute posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,455 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Assault third degree charges were brought against another Melbourne man, Sean Christopher Savage on May 5, 2010. Savage posted bond the same day after appearing before District Judge David E. Miller and posting a cash bond in the amount of $200.

James Lee Pigmon, age 52 of Earle, Arkansas was arrested Thursday on charges of drinking in public and having no drivers license. Pigmon was released Friday after appearing before Judge David Miller and was given a court date.

Stephen Kenneth Brooks, age 56 of Wiseman was arrested Thursday on the charge of public intoxication. Brooks was released with a court date after appearing before Judge David Miller.

Gary Lynn Craig, age 61 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested Friday on the charge of criminal trespass. Craig was released the same day and given a court date in Izard County District “Court.

Bobby Ray Eddy, age 43 of Melbourne was arrested May 3 on the charge of driving on a revoke license. Eddy posted a cash bond the same day in the amount of $355 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
