BOND SET AT $100,000 FOR ALLEGED DRUG DEALER


A Salesville, Arkansas man has been charged in Izard County for the possession/manufacturing of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and delivering that substance. David Michael Fiss, age 20 was arrested April 29 on those charges and the additional charge of failure to pay fines. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Fiss was living in the Calico Rock area at the time he committed the alleged offense. Circuit Judge Tim Weaver set bond at $100,000. Fiss remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond according to Sheriff Lawrence. The arrest of Fiss was made possible by a coordinated effort between the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the Sixteenth Judicial District Drug Task Force.

A Calico Rock woman was arrested April 25 as the result of Calico Rock School authorities reporting significant signs of physical abuse to a small child o the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. According to information and pictures provided the sheriff’s department, the child had marks of major injury to her legs and buttock area. Shelley Nalley, age 46 of 632 Reb Lane was charged with domestic battering third degree. According to local and national court information, Nalley has been convicted in the past of similar and more serious charges involving a child. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Nalley appeared before District Judge David E. Miller for a bond hearing and was ordered not to have future contact with the child. Nalley is out on bond scheduled to appear in court.

Jason Dale Pittman, age 32 of Violet Hill was arrested May 1 on the charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Pittman remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond in the amount of $1,150.

A Calico Rock man identified as Clinton Craig Hefton , age 38 of Tower Road was arrested April 26 on the charge of assault first degree. Hefton is alleged to have approached three individuals on their property complaining about their activity near Hefton’s property. The situation somewhat escalated and Hefton is accused of displaying a gun. Hefton posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Brittane Renee Alexander, age 25 of Clinton was arrested April 27 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Judge David Miller conducted an initial hearing April 29, released Alexander and gave her a court date.

A Horseshoe Bend man, Jeff Daniel Jeff Easter, age 47 was arrested May 1 on warrant charging failure to pay fines. Easter remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $635 bond.

Roger Lee Johnson, age 40 of Batesville and previously of the Zion community was transported April 29 to the Arkansas Department of Correction following a felony probation violation.
