An arrest has been made in connection with the destruction of a memorial bench at the Spring Creek Cemetery in Calico Rock. The bench that had been placed near the grave site of Willis Hankins by Sally Austin was destroyed along with a monument. Alodia Hankins of Stone County was charged with Criminal Mischief in the second degree, a class “A” misdemeanor which carries punishment up to a year in the county jail and/or a $2,500 fine. Hankins posted bond in the amount of $2,500 and was released with a court date, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence.
