Members of the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force were among the sixth grade students at Calico Rock Elementary School on Friday. A seminar was conducted regarding internet safety and the dangers of the internet.. The students were reminded to avoid chat rooms and other aspects of the internet and were warned not go give out personal information relating to their name, address, and date of birth. The second part of the seminar involved the dangers of illegal drugs and the misuse of prescription drugs. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that he is pleased that Calico Rock School allowed the students of participate. Sheriff Lawrence and Izard County Investigator Charles Melton along with Task Force Agent James Humphrey were present for the seminar.
