WOMAN ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES

Following a week long investigation by members of the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, the Arkansas State Police, and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, a woman residing in the Oxford area was arrested on drug charges. Heather Lynn Mikel, also known as Heather Basham, age 31 of Mountain Grove, Missouri was arrested February 2 on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine, a class “B” felony. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Mikel remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $20,000 bond.

A Thursday call to deputies regarding a physical altercation at a Calico Rock residence resulted in the arrest of one female. At the Joyce Farmer residence on highway 56, Sara Loosely, age 21 was charged with battery third degree and with possessing a controlled substance. Loosely posted bond Saturday and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Deputies were dispatched in the early morning hours Saturday to the Forty Four community in response to a compliant by a mother that her 16 year old daughter had not returned home. Upon arrival at the Millard Bowden residence, deputies observed several underage persons, drinking alcoholic beverages. After locating all the participants except one who fled the scene, deputies arrested Millard Dodd Bowden age 19 on the charge of five counts of social host violations; Austin Lee Burrow, age 20 of Guion on the charge of public intoxication;
Amber Elaine Gorian, age 18 of Dolph on the charge of public intoxication; and Robert Stowers, age 18 of Dolph on the charge of public intoxication. All posted bond the following day and were released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Two juveniles, one male and one female were also charged with public intoxication and released to their parents. Charges are pending against the one who fled the scene.

In an unrelated arrest, Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Jaden Ross Whitfield, age 18 was arrested Friday night on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving left of center. Whitfield posted bond and was released to the custody of family.

Deputies responded Sunday to a domestic violence call and arrested Amber L. Mix, age 22 on the charge of domestic battery third degree. Mix is accused o biting the hand and ear of her mother and attempting to kick her in the face. Mix remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Jermyn Michael Eppes, age 33 of Horseshoe Bend was transported Monday to began serving time in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
