STORE EMPLOYEE CHARGED WITH THEFT



Charles Nathan Champ, age 30 of Melbourne was arrested January 26 on charges of theft relating to money taken from a local grocery store. Champ is accused of taken more than $10,000 from a business where he was employed. Champ posted bond in the amount of $5,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Bobby Dale Gibson, age 54 of Violet Hill was arrested Thursday on charges of driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and assault in the first degree. Gibson remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a hold from Newton County.

Michael Brandon Lyons, age 27 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested January 26 on charges of criminal mischief second degree, domestic battering third degree, and leaving the scene of an accident. Lyons remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Mary Diane Peters, age 41 of Melbourne was arrested January 26 on the charge of battery third degree. Peters posted bond the following day and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Heath Nicholas Monroe, age 28 of Calico Rock was arrested January 26 on a failure to appear warrant. Monroe remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of an $835 bond.

Five inmates were transported January 25 to the Arkansas Department of Correction to serve prison time. Transported were Jacob Dale Langston, age 23 of Norfork; Jared J. Holland, age 28 of Norfork; Jimmy Dewayne Bowen, age 28 of Newport; Daniel Canton Ledlow, age 24 of Newark; and Christopher R. Fischer, age 29 of Newport.
