GEORGE MILLER JIMMY YATES DARREN NORMAN
An April 4 traffic stop in Horseshoe Bend by Deputy Toby Smith with assistance by Cpl. Richard Williams, the driver and an occupant of the vehicle were arrested and placed on a hold pending formal charges. According tp Sheriff Tate Lawrence driver Jimmy Yates, age 47 of Hardy and George Miller, age 49 of Horseshoe Bend were formally charged April 6 were formally charged with possession of methamphetamine, a class “b” felony. Miller was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence. Yates released April 6 after posting bond in the amount of $10,000. Miller remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $10,000 and a probation hold. Both are scheduled in appear in Izard County Circuit Court on April 21.
A Horseshoe Bend pair, Charles Anthony Clements, age 31 and Melanie Jordan Obrien, was arrested April 5 following a call to dispatch that a man was screaming in front of a West Ridge Circle residence. Clements initially fled but was later located when Deputy Toby Smith heard a male and female screaming at each other. Obrien was extremely intoxicated and both were charged with disorderly conduct. Clements was released April 8 after posting bond while Obrien remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a Circuit court bond revocation.
An April 6 traffic stop in Melbourne resulted in the arrest of a father and son. The son, twenty four year old Nathan Lee Hellums of Melbourne was charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants for failure to appear and failure to pay fines. The father, Darren Wade Hellums, age 46 of Brockwell on an outstanding Faulkner County warrant and was picked up from the Izard County Detention Facility the following day by Falkner authorities. Nathan Lee Hellums remains jailed on a no bond status.
Phillip Scott Teague, age 32 of Pleasant Plains was arrested the night of April 8 for driving while intoxicated-drug induced, refusal to submit to a chemical test, careless driving, no driving license, and driving a vehicle without registration. Teague was released the following day after posting bond in the amount of $1,365and given a June 18 court date.
Following dispatch to a resort in Horseshoe Bend on April 7 by Deputy Michael Smith, two vacationing females from different states got into an argument about the children of Lacie Nelon. This situation escalated to a physical altercation and Lacie Nelon, age 31 of Winfield West Virginia was charged with disorderly conduct and battery third degree. Nelon posted bond the day of her arrest in the amount of $1,310, appeared in court April 9 and was found guilty and fined.
A high speed pursuit in Horseshoe Bend, then into Fulton County led to the warranted arrest of Darren Lee Norman, age 30 of Salem. Deputy Toby Smith initiated a traffic stop on Norman’s vehicle at which time Norman fled driving in a most erratic and unsafe manner. Norman finally stopped the Chevy S-10 truck he was driving and ran into the woods. Sheriff Lawrence said He was arrested Friday on charges of reckless driving, fleeing in a vehicle which is a felony, driving on a suspended license, and four counts of failure to obey traffic signs. Norman remains in the Izard County Facility in lieu of $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in circuit court April 21.
Jaye Frank Guy, age 47 of Calico Rock was arrested April 8 on charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs second offense, driving on a revoked license as the result of a DWI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Guy appear before District Judge David E. Miller the following day and issued a court date of April 23.
Richard Bud Reveley, age 36 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested April 9 on charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs and having no driver’s license. Because of medical circumstance, Reveley was released to family members with a June 18 court date.
Joshua Nathaniel Moorehead, age 23 of Norfolk was arrested April 8 on charges of driving on a DWI revoked license, operating a motor vehicle without license plates, and having no liability insurance coverage.
Dustin Taylor Birchett, age 19 of Hot Springs was arrested April 7 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Birchett appeared in Izard County District Court on April 9, released with a new court date.
A Wynne woman, Shannon Shontae Lawson, age 27 was arrested April on for failing to pay fines. Lawson appeared district court April 9 and was released with a continuance.
Also arrested on April 9 for failure to pay fines, Angela Marie Dickerson, age 37 of Pineville posted bond the day of her arrest in the amount of $855 cash. Dickerson is scheduled to appear in Izard County District court April 23.
In another failure to pay fines case, Christopher John Frey was arrested April 3, released from jail the following day and given an April 23 court date.
