Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that two burglaries, a vehicle theft, and a criminal mischief case are currently under investigation by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. The Conoco Convenience Store in Calico Rock was broken in to early morning of November 28 and money was stolen from an amusement machine and cigarettes were stolen.
In the same general vicinity of store, a vehicle was stolen November 21 from a residence in Calico Rock. The vehicle is described as a 2008 GMC Acadia The vehicle was located in Baxter County and had been wrecked. Also on the November 21 in the same vicinity, a soft drink machine was damaged when someone attempted to open the money mechanism.
In another burglary case, a home near Guion was broken into midday on November 21 while the occupants wee away for a short time. A night stand drawer full of jewelry was stolen as well as medication and a Ruger LCR hammerless revolver.
Sheriff Lawrence requests anyone having seen anything at these locations on these dates or have any other information to notify Investigator Charles Melton at 36-4203.
