Jeffery Chase Moser, age 23 of Melbourne was arrested June 26 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and later while incarcerated on a department of correction probation violation hold was additionally charged . Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Moser along with Brandon Joe “B.J.” Gillaspie, age 23 of Melbourne were charged June 29 after attempting, through an unknowing third party, to bring schedule II narcotics into the Izard County Detention Facility.
An investigation into the matter revealed that Moser and Gillapsie had conspired to have Gillapsie place hydromorphone pills in the lining of a Bible cover and give the Bible to a third party to bring to Moser who was in jail.
Moser was charged as a habitual offender with conspiracy to furnish prohibited articles into a facility, a class “C” felony; unlawful use of a communication device, a class “C” felony; and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
Gillaspie was charged with furnishing prohibited articles into a correction facility, a class “B” felony; conspiracy to furnish prohibited articles, a class “C” felony, unlawful use of a communication device, a class “C” felony; possession of drug paraphernalia to conceal a controlled substance, a class “D” felony; and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
Moser remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no-bond status while Gillapsie posted bond in the amount of $5,000 and released with a court date. The unknowing third party individual was not charged, according to Sheriff Lawrence..
In an unrelated matter, Joseph Lynn Lyons, age 27 of Batesville was arrested June 25 on an Izard County theft of property warrant and an Independence County felony warrant. Lyons was transferred to the Batesville on the more serious charge.
Roy L. Glisson, age 54 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Friday on a probation/parole violation (manufacturing marijuana) and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,000 cash bond.
Stephen Townsend, age 42 of Oxford was arrested Saturday night on two counts of battery third degree. Townsend is accused of hitting two men in the head with a rock and threatening to kill them. Townsend remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before a judge.
Savoy Dylan Stewart, age 25 of Calico Rock was arrested early Thursday morning on the charge of domestic battering third degree. Stewart is accused of hitting a female companion during an argument. Stewart was released the following day after being issued a no contact order regarding the female companion.
Caroline Rose Howard, age 33 of Pineville was arrested Friday evening at a Calico Rock retail business after store employees complained that Howard was talking crazy and disturbing other customers in the store. When a deputy approached Howard in the store, she started swearing and became verbally aggressive. Howard was charged with disorderly conduct and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Marion Eugene Berry, age 56 of Franklin was arrested June 27 on a probation/parole violation and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Steven Bennett Meek, age 54 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested June 278 on a absconder warrant and a Sharp County failure to pay fines warrant. Meek remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no-bond status.
Adrian Michael Humphries, age 24 of Batesville was arrested June 24 on an Izard County failure to pay fines warrant. Humphries is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $430 cash bond.
Christopher Dennis Stone, age 35 of Violet Hill was arrested Friday on an Izard County failure to pay fines warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $370 cash bond.
A Batesville man, twenty-nine year old Billy Jack Renfrow was arrested Thursday on an Izard County failure to appear warrant. Renfrow remains in jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bond.
Brayden William Conyers, age 21 of Melbourne was arrested after leaving a court ordered rehabilitation facility prior to completing the program. Conyers remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of cash bond in the amount of $500.
Inmate Rodney Paul Medling, age 37 of Brock well was transported June 25 to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
