OVER 200,000 PILLS SEIZED - MANY SUSPECTED TO BE FENTANYL

On January 9, 2024 a search warrant was served at a residence off of North Moccasin Creek Road just North of Calico Rock. The search warrant was the result of an investigation by Homeland Security, the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force, and the Izard County Sheriff's Office, for possession and trafficking of illicit narcotics. During the execution of this search warrant, officers discovered what can be described as a large-scale illicit narcotics and pharmaceuticals distribution center with officers seizing over 200,000 pills. A large percentage of the pills seized field tested positive for the presence of Fentanyl. This investigation is ongoing with evidence sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for testing. More details will be made available at a later date.  

Assisting in the search warrant were the North Central Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 Team, 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force, Independence County Sheriff's Office, and the Batesville Police Department. 

As a result, Wayne Post, 55 of Calico Rock, has been charged in the Izard County Circuit Court with trafficking a schedule IV substance, class Y felony; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony; maintaining a drug premises, a class C felony; possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, a class D felony; trafficking Fentanyl, a class Y felony; and criminal use of a communication device, a class C felony. Post bond was set at $500,000.
