The Chapel is located on the premises of the Izard County Detention Facility and operates under the direction of the Izard County Sheriff's Department Chaplain. The chapel is non-denominational and is open for inmate services with the approval of the chaplain. The construction of the chapel was made possible by donations from area citizens and inmate labor. The facility is 880 square feet and is fully furnished. Services are held twice weekly with a variety of ministers officiating the services.

Brother Author Barber was the first appointed Chaplain of the Jail Chapel. Following Chaplain Barber's move from the area, Brother Alvin Wiles assumed the responsibility of Chaplain and served until his health required him to transfer the duties to assistant Jeff McAnally who was appointed Chaplain in 2012
